About the Author
In 1992 Vickie Girard was diagnosed with
Stage Four cancer and told to get her affairs in order. Instead she
chose to fight. She not only survived, she went on to become one of our
nation’s most compelling advocates ofthe new “patient empowerment
medicine.” She is a tireless patient advocate, speaker and writer,
crisscrossing the nation, working with doctors, nurses and cancer
