Shipping Methods & Charges
BookPal offers worldwide shipping and a variety of delivery options to suit every schedule and budget. The services available and the cost of shipping depend on:
- Where you are shipping your order
- How quickly you need your order to be delivered
- Which specific books your order contains
- The quantity of books being ordered
Not all warehouses operated by BookPal, our affiliates, or our third-party suppliers are open 24 hours, 7 days a week throughout the year. Since our merchandise can ship from different warehouses, the time and day that you place your order may affect when your order is ready to ship. For example, an order placed Saturday afternoon will not ship until the following business week.
In addition, the method of shipping used influences how quickly your order will leave the warehouse. Most Overnight or 2nd Day Air shipments will ship by the next business day, whereas ground and freight deliveries may take up to 3 – 5 business days to ship, depending on the quantity of books being ordered as well as which warehouse the books are being shipped from.
After you have placed your order, we will check the product’s inventory and send you an email containing your order summary. If there are any problems with the quantity being ordered, we will generally let you know the next business day. Please note though, that it can take an additional 2 – 3 days to learn that a product is not available in the quantity requested, but we will always let you know as soon as possible when we hear there is a shortage. If you are concerned about a book not being in stock, we are always happy to confirm availability before you place your order and in many cases we can even put the quantity you need on hold so its available for shipment when your order is finalized.
Print on Demand Titles
Print on demand (POD) is a process that allows for books to be printed as orders are placed. It is becoming more common for titles to move to a print on demand model and are therefore not held in inventory. For these POD books we will actually coordinate the printing of the books for your order after your order is placed. Generally POD orders ship in 3 – 10 business days depending on which facility prints the titles in your order. As suppliers let us know that a specific book is POD we will update that book’s product page to let you know the timeframe it will take to print the copies you need.
BookPal allows customers to pre-order merchandise that has not yet been released by publishers and studios. The release date is provided by the supplier and indicates the date the product is scheduled to be available for shipment. Release dates are subject to change by the supplier; such date changes will be updated as we receive them.
Additional Processing Time Required
Some products require additional processing time before they ship. Generally, these products have messaging next to their “Add to Cart” button indicating that additional time is required, such as “Usually ships within 4 – 7 business days”. This figure tells you when the item is ready to leave our warehouse. The total time it will take to receive that title is determined by adding the “available to ship” time to the number of days your shipping method will take.
Weather, natural disasters, and other events beyond our control may affect shipping and delivery times. If conditions are serious and expected to last longer than a brief period of time, special instructions may be added to Checkout pages or we will attempt to contact you via email or phone to provide detailed updates.
Yes we do ship to FPO and APO addresses worldwide. Additional shipping is generally applied for USPS insurance to cover lost and damaged shipments. Please note that USPS shipments are not a guaranteed level of service and delivery times can vary from 1 – 5 weeks depending on the destination.
